Your documents stay on your Mac.

Effective November 8, 2026. This policy covers the FolioDiff macOS app, developed by Mingyang Fan.

Document processing

The app reads only the PDF files you select or open with it. PDF rendering, text comparison, visual comparison, and OCR run locally. Documents and recognized text are not sent to the developer or a third-party processing service. Originals are not modified.

Storage and exports

The current comparison and notes are held in memory for the current app session. The app does not restore them after quitting. PDF and CSV reports are written only when you choose to export, to the location you select. Reports contain document content and your notes; you decide where to store or share them.

Data collection

FolioDiff has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK, cloud sync, or document-upload service. The developer does not collect personal data through the app. Apple handles App Store purchases and may provide store diagnostics or aggregated reports according to your Apple settings and Apple's privacy policy.

Support and this website

If you email support, your email address and the information you choose to send are used to respond. Do not send confidential documents. This website has no advertising or analytics scripts and no document-upload form. Its hosting provider may process ordinary access logs such as IP addresses to operate and secure the site.
